A fair 5.7/10 from me. The action sequences are jaw-dropping. The story gets bogged down in the second act.

from a technical perspective every directorial choice feels deliberate and effective. Edge-of-your-seat intensity throughout. Worth every minute of your time.

What makes us sit up and take notice at the start becomes much less effective; the pyrotechnics lose their impressiveness a bit and to be honest, Gibson simply hasn't the on-screen presence to carry this for 2¼ hours. Sadly, even though, this is all way too long and though certainly potent at the start, that is washed away in a sea of repetition.

Look, musical choices that perfectly complement the visuals. One of the standout entries from 2002.

An interesting watch, if a bit inconsistent. The story gets bogged down in the second act. That's for sure.
