The direction lacks the boldness the material demands. A compelling investigation. Some actors deliver, others feel miscast. …

"Requiem for a Dream" really delivers. Decent enough if you've got nothing else on the list. A few too many subplots that don't go anywhere. …

Only my second viewing of this, last time probably was when it came out on DVD, and not one I'll re-watch anytime soon, but still a great drama featuring incredible performances, most notably Ellen Burstyn who was worthy of her Oscar nomination. Not entertaining in so much as fascinating film worth it for some of the visuals and acting. Has some darkly wild moments and a swing in tones, guess giving viewers insights into the highs and lows of heroine use.

I can see why opinions are divided. There are plot holes you could drive a truck through. Some actors deliver, others feel miscast.

Not exactly what I was hoping for, but not bad either. A few too many subplots that don't go anywhere. "Requiem for a Dream" really delivers.
