What People Say

I can see why opinions are divided. What really stands out is that animation that pushes the medium forward. A rental, not a theater visit.

Had mixed feelings about this one. So yeah, a generic soundtrack that doesn't leave much impression.

Oliver Wallace's cracking score lost out for the Oscar to "An American in Paris" but is still, every inch, a winner... The whole thing makes no sense at all, really - so don't go looking for any logical structure or story narrative - there isn't one. From the start with the "White Rabbit" she has adventures, mishaps and an a-maze-ing time meeting the "Mad Hatter" the centipede; talking roses; the mischievous "Cheshire Cat"; a truly surreal tea party, and of course the "Queen of Hearts" as bonkers and over-the-top as ever the author could have imagined - you sure wouldn't want to be a flamingo at her court!

The whole thing makes no sense at all, really - so don't go looking for any logical structure or story narrative - there isn't one. Lewis Carroll really did provide Walt Disney with a veritable Aladdin's cave of delights to work from with for this hugely entertaining and colourful adaptation of his "The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland" stories. …
