Well, of course it's stupid that I didn't see the first part, but it's also a little bit unusual that this sequel doesn't make any effort to give these characters any depth. Is anything even going on?

Not terrible, not amazing — just... The chemistry between the leads is palpable. This raises the standard for the drama genre.
