Well made thriller with Cruise turning one of his better performances (argument could be made deserved an Oscar nod), same with Jamie Foxx. 2004 produced a true contender with this one. A bit preposterous at times and some convenient moments (like when the cops let them go), that said still entertaining and engaging until the very end.

In addition, the acting is competent, if unremarkable. A justified 7.2 β€” I'd agree.

I gotta be honest, beautifully directed with a clear artistic vision. Here's the thing: the emotional depth here is incredible. A film that earns its place among the best.
